About General Meetings Directions to the Meeting Place

Our General Meeting is usually held on the third Monday of each month, with no General Meetings in July and August.

Staying Safe and Preventing Identity Theft Online

Our board member Dennis McCormick will tell you about using Linux virtual machines (free) and/or Sandboxie (not free) to protect your self from malware and ransomeware in a "Windows.." computer.

Our board member Rick Rolland and Bob Gostischa of Avast will tell you about staying safe and preventing identy theft online.

About the presenters:

Rick Rolland operates "Media Masters", a business that provides app development, Web site design, and Web hosting.
Rick serves on our Board of Directors as our Membership Coordinator.
He also serves on the board of directors of the "Tucson Drifters" which is the Tucson chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association.

Dennis McCormick is the leader of our Linux SIG of the Tucson Computer Society. He serves on our Board of Directors as a "Member-at-Large". He also is the moderator for the members-only "tcslst" and "eTCSBOD" Yahoo Groups.

Breakout Session at 7:00pm

The breakout session will consist of a series of Questions & Answers pertaining to both the presentation topic AND computer and networking issues in general. Bring us your questions or please help us out by answering some of the questions

Raffle Prizes:

Raffle participation is open to all paid members who will get one raffle ticket for attending this meeting. There will be two raffle drawings. The first raffle drawing will use only the free tickets each paid member will get. The second raffle drawing will include purchased tickets as well as the unused free tickets from the first raffle. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased in order to increase your chances of winning in the second raffle drawing. Both raffle drawings will be conducted at the end of the Main Session.
