"WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER" VIDEO CALLING

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

With "Windows Live Messenger"  software, you can initiate and receive full-motion "video calls" to other users of the "Windows Live Messenger" system.

INSTALLING "WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER"

 

 

Installation Step 1:

Start your Web browser.

 

Installation Step 2:

Go to

http://download.live.com/messenger

 

 

Installation Step 3:

Click on the "Download" button:

 

 

Installation Step 4:

Click on the "Download" button again:

 

 

 

 

Installation Step 5:

Click on the "Save" button:

 

 

 

Installation Step 6:

A "Save As" box will be displayed:

 

 

 

Installation Step 7:

Click once "Desktop" in the left pane:

 

 

Installation Step 8:

Click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Run" button:

 

 

 

 

Installation Step 10:

If a "User Account Control" box pops up, click on it's "Yes" button.

Remove the checkmark from "Set your search provider":

 

 

Installation Step 13:

Remove the checkmark from "Set your home page".

Select the "No, thanks" option"; then click on the "OK" option:

USING "WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER"

 

 

Using Step 1:

Start "Windows Live Messenger", if it is not already started:

Using Step 2:

Click on the "Show Menu" button:

 

 

Using Step 3:

Click on "Tools" on the pull-down menu.

 

Using Step 4:

Then click on "Audio and video setup..":

Using Step 5:

Click on the "Test" button for the your speakers or headset.

 

Using Step 6:

Speak into your microphone and make sure that some audio signals are displayed by the moving green bar:

 

 

 

Using Step 7:

Click on the "Next" button.

 

 

 

 

Using Step 8:

Use the drop-down list button to select your Webcam:

The video picture of your Webcam will be displayed:

Using Step 10:

Click on the "Finish" button.

Click on the "Add a Contact" button:

Type in an "Instant messaging address":

Your recipient's "Hotmail" or "Window Live" mail address should also be their "Instant messaging address":

Click on the "Next" button.

After your recipient answers, the top video picture is the one that you are receiving from the recipient.

The bottom video picture is the one that you are sending to the recipient.

RECEIVING AN INCOMING "WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER" CALL

 

 

 

Using Step 25:

 

A dialog box will pop up near the "Notification Area"/"System Tray":

 

Click on "Accept" to accept the call.

Otherwise, click on "Decline" to decline the call.
